Clear Aligners

Impressions of your teeth and a series of photos will be taken and used to create a 3-D computer image that is used to develop a course of treatment to move your teeth to the desired final position. From this plan a custom-made set of clear aligner trays are produced. The number of trays required varies, but 20-29 sets per arch over the course of the treatment is typical. Each clear aligner moves teeth incrementally and is worn for about two weeks, then replaced by the next in the series until the final position is achieved.

What do I need to consider before deciding on aligners?

For the first few weeks, the use of aligners will take some getting used to. Trays should be worn at all times except when eating or drinking because food can easily get trapped between the tray and the teeth, creating problems with tooth decay. After treatment is complete your dentist will have retainers fabricated to help you maintain your new beautiful smile.
